While he currently serves as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), the fact is, it took Brad Hompe many years to get into that position. He is there because he has a high level of experience in the operations of jails and prisons. Brad has worked at virtually every level of the corrections system by now. For example, he has worked as a prison staff employee, as well as a jail inspector, an instructor and trainer.
Over the course of his tenure with WI-DOC, Brad Hompe has done nearly everything. Before he became a warden, he worked his way up the chain, from his humble beginnings as a corrections officer to being promoted to sergeant, then lieutenant, then captain, until he was made a unit manager and deputy warden. Brad also has an impressive education. After high school, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice and psychology from Winona State University over in Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Oshkosh branch of the University of Wisconsin. Later on, he worked hard to gain several certifications in law enforcement and another as a firefighter, which he received from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin. Brad Hompe has long been considered a solid expert on prison operations, especially when it comes to jail and prison planning and design. He is also known for his ability to deal with policy development and he can develop and implement training and evaluation programs, as well as programs in incident management. Brad has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin and all over the country. Comments are closed.
