These days, you can find Brad Hompe working with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), as a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator. One thing that makes him qualified for such a position is that he has a whole lot of experience in virtually every aspect of jail and prison operations, as a result of his efforts as he worked his way through the WI-DOC system. As he worked his way up the career ladder, he stood on virtually every rung on the climb. He actually started his career like most, as a corrections officer, before being promoted to Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, unit manager and deputy warden, all before he became a warden. Throughout his career, he has taken the lead on the development and implementation of corrections programs, but Brad Hompe also has provided a wide range of services in prisons and jails throughout Wisconsin, as well as nationally.
It’s not exaggeration to say that, during his time with WI-DOC, Brad Hompe has performed virtually every task there is to perform at one time or another. In addition to working his way up the career ladder, Brad has also served as a jail inspector, an instructor and trainer at various points. Primarily based on his experience and his knowledge, over the years, Brad Hompe has come to be seen as an expert in all areas of prison operations these days. At various times, he has taken an active role in jail and prison planning and design, as well as with the development and the implementation of prison policy in areas as important as the proper use of force. He has also played a part in setting up training and evaluation policies, as well as policies having to do with incident management, classification and supervision.
